| This bird, a male, was sleeping not far from its mate, which had nested in a very
dilapidated unused mud nest originally built by choughs, Corcorax melanorhampos.
This pair of frogmouths had one chick which they reared successfully.
The three birds moved around the local neighbourhood for some weeks before moving on.
The nest collapsed during the following year and a new nest was built in the same spot
by choughs.
However neither the choughs nor the frogmouths laid eggs in the nest during the following 2 years. |
